Yeovil Swimmers Pick Up Medals at South West ASA Age Group Championships 2011

Yeovil had several swimmers representing the club at the first weekend of competition of the 2011 South West age group championships.
In the boys 10 year old age group Rupert Hague was in for a busy weekend, his first swim was the 400m Free where he swam a PB to place 7th overall, up next was the 100m Back, Rupert put in a good performance in the heat to qualify 7th for the evenings final, where a great swim with a 2 second PB saw him pick up the 3rd placed medal. Rupert also reached the final of the 200m Breast placing 6th and 100m Free where he finished 8th great effort Rupert keep it up for next weekend!
 
The boys 12 years 100m Backstroke saw Ben Card and Mark Stevens swimming in their first regional championships, Ben swam a PB to place 18th and Mark placed 25th also swimming a PB well done boys. Elliott Carter was also swimming in his first regionals and placed 19th in the 14yrs 400 Free. Elliott Carter and Elliott Watts were also selected to represent Yeovil in the Swim 21 network relay squads, Elliott C performed well in the ‘A’ team (4x100m Free) to help them to finish 5th and Elliott Watts put in a great swim in the ‘B’ team (4x100m Free) helping them to finish 8th again well done boys!
We also had two girls swimming in the first weekend of competition Jessica Carroll swam a PB in the heats of the 10 years 200m Breast to qualify 3rd for the evenings final, Jessica upped her game for the final and swam a ‘4 ‘second PB to place 3rd overall and pick up the bronze medal, she will be back next weekend for the 100m Breast well done Jessica keep up the good work.  Maddy White swam well in the 100m Free placing 14th and the 400m Free placing 12th, Maddy was also selected to represent Yeovil in the Swim 21 network relay squads and in the 4x100m Freestyle relay she helped the team to first place and pick up the gold medal, she will now represent Yeovil at 2011 National Age Group championships in Sheffield as part of this team. Super effort congratulations Maddy!
